WOODSTOCK 1969

El Festival de música y arte de Woodstock (en inglés, Woodstock Music & Art Fair), o Festival de Woodstock, fue una congregación hippie con música de rock realizado desde el viernes 15 hasta la mañana del lunes 18 de agosto de 1969. Tuvo lugar en una granja de 240 hectáreas en Bethel, condado de Sullivan, estado de Nueva York; aunque estaba programado para que tuviese lugar en el pueblo de Wallkill, en el mismo estado de Nueva York, donde los pobladores, sin embargo, se opusieron. Los organizadores también tuvieron la misma experiencia con la sede Saugerties, Nueva York, que había sido seleccionada mientras tanto. El escritor Elliot Tiber ayudó a negociar a los organizadores con el granjero Max Yasgur, para acoger al concierto en los terrenos de esa familia, 64 km al suroeste de Woodstock. The Woodstock Music & Art Fair, or Woodstock Festival, was a hippie rock music congregation held from Friday, August 15 to Monday morning, August 18, 1969. It took place on a 240-acre farm in Bethel, Sullivan County, New York state; although it was scheduled to take place in the town of Wallkill, in the same state of New York, where the villagers, however, objected. The organizers also had the same experience with the venue Saugerties, New York, which had been selected in the meantime. Writer Elliot Tiber helped negotiate the organizers with farmer Max Yasgur to host the concert on that family's land, 40 miles southwest of Woodstock. It was billed as "An Aquarius Exhibition: 3 Days of Peace and Music" and is also known as the Woodstock Rock Festival.

Se celebrarían otros festivales Woodstock ´79, '89, '94, '99 más un recordatorio en 2009 en que Richie Havens se acercó al campo a rendir homenaje con su clásico Freedom en el 40.º aniversario y un minirrecital en Bethel, el 18 de agosto de 2013, en memoria del Havens, fallecido cuatro años antes.
